As a public health specialist and epidemiologist I feel it is my duty to help others, and I want to help you make a better informed decision about your care and treatment.
Our health is of the utmost importance! When something goes sideways it can be hard to know what to do? With the influx of information available, like Dr. Google, it makes challenging to find information you can trust.
My education and professional training significant helped me in my quest for knowledge about my condition but the overwhelm of being diagnosed challenged my ability to filter through vast amounts of information.
The hope for future generations is a health care system that provides individualized care however it is still heavily confined to protocols and procedures and therefore our duty to reinforce need for care as individuals.
The main caution here is that you will need to know what to ask for, scientist and physicians are part and partial however, the time to which a process is implemented for a doctor to provide procedures or treatments to their patients differs greatly from country to country based on public and private health care systems.
Therefore I request that you learn how to research and obtain as much as you can about your diagnosis prior to each medical appointment. You want to arrived ready for the challenge, with questions and options in hand.
